You Mad?

Dear Journal...

This last week has been a bit stressful and tiring, between work, relationship problems, family problems and a stupid back pain that's been killing me for 2 weeks already. I cant seem to get a break at any moment. Lost of things have happen but the most reason one is my car alternator broke 2 days ago so I'm without a car till October 2. That's when the gets to Advance Auto Parts because the car its a BMW even if its an old one they have to order the part. I'm really hoping it gets there the day its suppose to and it don't take longer.

I think the only funny part of the week was that my boyfriend hate that I'm a 95% of the time right specially when it comes to cars I'm always right and the only way he figure things out about a car its by checking on the internet so he can figure or know where things in the car are. He wont admit I'm a 95% of the time right he say I'm about a 80% or less of the time right but still more than him.

So yesterday we took the car to get check and I told him the battery had probably died because the alternator broke he said it was probably a bunch of different thing he gave me like 3 different options of what it could have been but at the end it was what I said. I was also the one who had to take out the battery of the car and put it back in. The funny part was seeing his face when he said "I hate that your always right" that was the best part of my day.

I guess guys find it weird that a girl knows a lot more about cars than they do. I can't really help it because I was raise around guys and I have always work in something that was to do with cars. Also my uncles are mostly mechanics or own a junker.

All in all I feel that this new week will get better and hopefully it wont be as bad as last week. I do hope my back pain leaves soon and I can finally get some good rest. I love sleeping.

R.I.P. Cookie

Dear Journal...

Last night my baby Cookie died. Cookie was my cute little black hamster she was a gift from my boyfriend's little brother who raises hamsters. She had always been a very nerves hamster any little thing made her jump and scared her. Last night was raining and she was playing on her wheel like always the there was thunder and lightning after that we didn't hear her. I didn't think nothing of it. But when my boyfriend goes to feed her and his hamster Cammy he found Cookie dead in her cage. She probably died of a heart attack. I will always miss her she was a great pet. I hope she had enjoy her time with me just as much as I enjoy all the time I spend with her. My boyfriend told his brother and they got me another hamster that will come home tonight the new hamster is actually Cammy's sister. I still don't know what I'm going to named her. But I know that no mater what Cookie will always have a special place in my heart!

Matcha Loaf Cake

Dear Journal...

I haven't baked in a long time and I mean a long long time to the point where I even missed baking so I woke up in one on my days off and said "I'm going to bake a cake" I guess those baking classes I took while I was in High School paid off. I had bought some Matcha in a store called Teavana the store is really lovely and the employees are awesome I had a lot of fun sampling different teas and looking at all the beautiful tea pots and cup they have there. They also had a great selection of honeys. I definitely want to go back to that store. The only thing I had done with the Matcha I got was Matcha smoothies so I decided to do a Matcha loaf cake not a big one because I just wanted to see how it came out I am happy to say it came out tasting great! Everybody in my family loved it even my brother who don't like drinking tea. It really don't taste like tea at all and its actually really sweet and moist. I'm proud of myself for this I definitely will bake more things in the near future. So I will post the recipe here so I wont forget.

Matcha Loaf Cake:

1/2 cup Butter
2/3 cup Sugar
1 cup Flour
2 (Large) Eggs
1 tbsp Matcha
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract

Mix butter with the sugar till soft then add eggs one at a time, add flour, Matcha, and baking powder. Then lastly add the vanilla extract its not a lot but believe me it make a difference. After everything is well mix put in a loaf pan and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or till golden make sure to always doble check with a toothpick if it comes out clean then its done!

After the cake is done take:

6 Star Anise
6-8 Clove
1 stick of Cinnamon
1/2 cup of Water
1/4 cup of Sugar

Take the Anise and break it apart add the anise, cloves and cinnamon the the cup of water let it all simmer till the cup of water been reduce to half turned off the heat and add sugar make sure all the sugar is dissolve. Then take a toothpick and make a couple of little holes on the cake after that ether take a brush and brush some of the mixture on top of the cake or take a spoon and drizzle it over the cake before cutting it and let it rest so the mixture can get all over the cake.

After the cake has rested and cooled down slice it up and enjoy. You don't use the complete mixture just used enough to cover the cake. Depending on how big the cake is it depends on how much will you have left over. This is a medium-small cake really and it don't rise a lot. The spices and sugar mixture will help the cake to stay nice and moist so you can actually use this mixture for any cake you make not just this one.

Also this mixture works great as tea just add some more Cloves make sure that there are more Cloves than Star Anise pisses. Don't go crazy adding Clover and if needed add a bit more water. Also you don't have to let it reduce to half. Instead of adding all that sugar add a little bit of honey or your favorite sweetener for teas and add a little bit of milk at your taste to it and you have a spice tea that its great to help with pain when girls are on that time of the month or just to enjoy it. It really taste good so you don't have to be a girl to enjoy this spice tea.    

I hope anybody who reads this and decides to make this cake and tea enjoys it as much as I do.

Homesick

Dear Journal...

Its been a year since I moved from my home for more than 19 year in Puerto Rico to the United States. That was a long a tiring trip especially because I hate airplane. One of the things I miss the most would be my grandmas cooking. To me there is nothing like a plate of food made by grandma to feel right at home. So from time to time I start getting homesick and all I want is a plate of my grandmas cooking. What I do is call her "Grandma I'm hungry for __________ how do I make it?" so she explains to me and gives me the recipe. But me or my mom end up writing it down in a piece of paper and losing it after we make the food. So I'll start posting my grandmas recipes here too. But not just my grandmas recipes. I have always love cooking but I like inventing quick and easy twist of my favorite foods but I'm berry forgetful and after doing it once I forget how I did it the next time. To me I think its easier to put them in my blog because I wont lose them and I can classified them easier. I hope that if anyone ends up reading this blog they will enjoy my grandmas and my crazy and easy cooking just as much as I do. And sorry if some of the recipes don't have exact measurements I'm not a professional cook in anyway I'm just a girl who loves eating and home cooking.

Before and after the hurricane

Dear Journal...

Its been known for some time that I move from my home in Puerto Rico to Connecticut I really miss my home. I been here for a couple of mounts and I'm still nor used to it. It still feels weird waking up and not smelling the ocean. A friend on mine took me to the beach here but I never expected it would stink like it did I had to cover my nose. I am never going to the beach here again. So right now I'm just looking for a job I get really bored just being home all day doing nothing. Until now the only cool thing I have found here is the library its really big and there are a lot of interesting books there.

I dye my hair a green/blue color but it went away really quick since I use Manic Panic so it was just temporary. Now my hair is a light brown but I'm planing on dye it again but I'm still not sure what color or colors to dye it.

I got this new fluffy hat and I'm in love with it since most of my things are still back home in Puerto Rico and my panda hat is there as well. Well all my hats are there except for my beach hat. 

I started wearing more eyeliner again I've always like how I looked with more liner but between work and school didn't have time and I was too tired to even bother with my makeup. I haven't been getting much sleep lately so I have really big dark circles... Well... Bigger than usual.

There was a hurricane I think most people already know about it. It hit New York and New Jersey really bad. Here it wasn't that bad except for the part that there was no light where I live for 6 days. Does were the most boring 6 days of my life. I had to be charging my phone on the car. After the hurricane was Halloween and I did a Jack O' Lantern I think it looked good considering that it was done freehand and it was my first ever Jack O' Lantern.
   

Halloween was suspender because of the hurricane but I still did a simple Halloween makeup because I was bored at home and alone. The makeup doesn't look so good on this pic but I didn't take a better one. So this week the kids are supposed to go trick o treading. 

My mom got me this drink and I must admit its really good. I'm a very picky person and I made my stepbrother taste it before I even tried it. But I love this drink now I have always love aloe because my grandma used to use it for a home remedy she use to do whenever I was sick and I didn't want to go to the doctor. I also used to use it for my face. It's really good for the face. It cleans the face and leaves it feeling refresh. 

Well I think that's most of my life at the moment really really boring life. I do hope I can find a job soon and decide what color should I dye my hair.

Welcome to my world!

This will be a Blog/Journal about my daily life, thing I see around me, Travels, reviews on things I buy, Make-up tutorial, D.I.Y., ect. So it will be my personal Journal. Every post will start of with "Dear Journal" and will end with "Sincerely your's K.M.S.".

I have decided to do this because this will be a way for me to keep an actual journal without having to hand wright anything and like this it will actually last longer than a piece of paper.

I been a blogger for many years but I have decided to delete everything on my blogs and start them completely new. Some may say I'm crazy but I just felt like I needed to start everything from the begging so I can remember once again why was it that I loved doing things and why I did them in the first place. I guess I just needed to remember from the beginning and why I started being who I am.
