I really like granola specially with vanilla yogurt and some strawberry jam or preserve. But I'm not a big fan of dry fruits or nuts for that matter so I cheated a bit and instead of using and buying a bunch of different nuts and dried fruits for this I got a cranberry trail mix. It work just as good as buying everything separately just give it a ruff chop before if u don'd like big pieces of nuts like me. In the end it came out really good and this actually last a long time as long as you put it inside a container with a lid you can leave it at room temperature so there is no need to put it in the refrigerator. I actually wanted to add some coconut to this but I gave some to a friend of mine seeing as he don't like coconut I didn't put any in it.
Homemade Granola:
3 cups of Old Fashion Oats
1 bag (approximately 3 cups) of Cranberry Trail Mix
1/4 cup and 2 tbs of Brown Sugar
1/4 cup and 2 tbs of Molasses
1/4 cup of Olive Oil
3/4 tsp of Salt
1. Preheat you'r oven to 250 degrees F
2. Mix Oats, Trail Mix and Sugar in a bowl.
3. In a separate bowl mix Oil, Molasses and Salt together.
4. Combine both mixtures then separate in to 2 baking sheets.
5. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
Then you are done like I said in the beginning just put in a container with a lid and you can keep this at room temperate. The recipe is simple the only thing is that you really do need to stir every 15 minutes because that way everything can get that golden look and it will me a lose granola. If you cook it with out stirring it it will come out in a block and the granola in the bottom will not cook as well. I hope you guys enjoy it.
